Sour Cherry Fruit Spread with the Mehu-Liisa Steam Juicer from Finland

CLARIFICATION: these cherries were pitted before processing so that I could use the pulp afterward.

    I was excited to see instructions for a cherry fruit spread. I watched it thru and finally figured out that you must have started with pitted cherries, so it was not as helpful as I had hoped. I love the idea of using the spent cherries after juicing, but don’t fancy pitting a large batch of cherries. The cherry seeds are too large to go thru my fruit mill. Do you have any ideas that don’t involve punching each and every cherry?
    PS- I’ve been using my M.L. for over ten years on grapes and love it, I’ve loaned it to a few trusted friends/neighbors and they end up buying one. My cherry tree is finally yielding enough fruit to process. Thanks

      In the previous post about juicing sour cherries I mentioned that I got the cherries at a local orchard and they pitted them for me. This is not a common service offered at orchards, but, using one of the European cherry pitter tools, like the Leifheit product, it doesn’t take that long to pit 10 lbs of cherries. A little messy, but worth the effort. I will put a note in the post indicating that the cherries were pitted before processing. Thanks for the heads up.
